OUR STORY

Tralee Lions Club is a voluntary organisation that consists of ordinary people who do their best to help others and to support good local causes. The club is part of the Lions Clubs International, a non-political service organisation of over 46,000 clubs and 1.4m members dedicated to helping those in need.

Tralee Lions Club was formed over 50 years ago. Our motto is "We Serve". It is about helping others in the community through fundraising and other activities aimed at promoting the improvement of the lives of those most in need in the community.

The main activities of the Tralee club are to assist local activities and projects such as the Tralee Community Bus trip coordinated jointly each year between the Lions Club and the local Community Garda, Tralee Soup Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, Hawley Park School, and Eagle Lodge. We run a number of fundraising events during the year including an annual Table Quiz, an annual Golf Classic and a December Street Collection in advance of Christmas. All funds raised go directly to local charities.

The club meets monthly on the second Tuesday of every month from October through to May at the Meadowlands Hotel, Tralee. It is not an exclusive club and we are always looking for new members and volunteers. Everyone is welcome. It is a very worthwhile experience as evidenced by many of the longstanding members of the club. Our members give as much or a little time as they can afford but together we achieve great things and enjoy great experiences.
